The Krakow Philharmonic Choir is one of the foremost professional choral ensembles in Poland. Its rich and diverse musical Tradition encompasses repertoire ranging from renaissance and baroque masterpieces to the most contemporary works by Polish and international masters. The Krakow Philharmonic Choir has toured throughout Europe, and has appeared on radio and television throughout the world. This evening's Papal Concert of Reconciliation is the second occasion on which the Krakow choir have been privileged to have sung for His Holiness Pope John Paul 11 at the Vatican. The choir participated in the concert to celebrate the Xth Anniversary of His Holiness' Pontificate on December 3, 1988, joining the Orchestra and Chorus of RAI/Roma, under the direction of tonight's conductor, Maestro Gilbert Levine, KCSG. The Choirs current director is Maestro Jacek Mentel.
